对对方的做法或想法不赞同或持批评态度)
e.g.:―I didn’t think much of the lecture. I dozed off half the time.
―How could you do that?
4.How do you like…?你觉得……怎么样
e.g.―The place I’ve heard so much about is Los Angeles. The climate is pretty good.
―How do you like it?
5.I’d love to, but…我倒是愿意,但是…(表示谢绝)
e.g.:―Would you like to come to dinner with us tonight?
―I’d love to, but I’ve got to study for tomorrow’s test.
6.It’s about time…是时候(做)……
e.g.―The city council has finally voted the funds to build a new high school.
―It’s about time they did it.
7.It’s all very well to say…说说……当然容易
e.g.―It’s partly your own fault. You should never let in anyone like that unless you’re expecting him.
―It’s all very well to say that, but someone comes to the door and says“electricity”or“gas”and you automatically think he is OK, especially if he shows you a card.
8.It’s one’s turn轮到某人
e.g.―What is the home assignment from Professor Smith? I missed the class this morning.

9.if only…要是…该多好(后一般接虚拟语气)
e.g.:―Have you found your dictionary?

10.No sooner…than…一…就…(指两件事几乎同时发生)
e.g: No sooner did I enter the room than the phone rang.

14.Why bother?用不着(表示否定)
e.g:―Where is Jane? I’ve got to find her and tell her about the meeting this afternoon.
―Why bother? You’ll see her at lunch.

e.g.:―My aunt had a car accident and she’s in hospital.
―Why not go over to see her now?
16.Would it be better if…?如果…不是更好吗?(用于委婉的建议)
e.g.:―Richard’s become quite unreasonable recently. I don’t know what’s wrong with him.
―Would it be better if you leave him alone?
